SDG12 attempts to increase responsible production and consumption. Our team’s goal is to contribute to this SDG. As ‘Fixwear’ we aim to educate and encourage members of the community to reuse items, reduce waste, and recycle the things that are considered 'second-hand' or have had a multitude of owners.

There are multiple reasons for choosing second-hand:

  • The global material footprint increased by 70 per cent between 2000 and 2017.

  • Progress to promote sustainable production and consumption is uneven

  • The rapidly growing rate of natural resource consumption is unsustainable

Our Methods

  1. A collection drive to collect items people don't use anymore --> redistributing these second-hand items

  2. Collect waste wax from churches and turn them into new candles

  3. Give-a-book-take-a-book shelf

  4. Blog posts about project status, interviews, etc

  5. Upcycle waste fabric into new clothes and sell them.

  6. Partnerships with local stores, influencers and student associations

  7. Photoshoots

  8. Distribution of our information and purpose on social media platforms

“You can start changing the world for the better daily - no matter how small the action”

-Nelson Mandela-

Our goal is clear: As ‘Fixwear’ we hope to educate people and inspire responsible consumption through accessible and affordable second-hand products. We are excited to take you on this journey with us!
